Widen from four to six lanes.
This project involves the widening of a 11.3 kilometre section of the Gateway Motorway, extending from Nudgee Road (northern end of the Gateway Upgrade Project) to Bracken Ridge and pavement rehabilitation and safety works from Bracken Ridge to the Wyampa Road Overpass. The project also includes the construction of new interchanges at Nudgee and Deagon, construction of a new northbound carriageway to remove the Deagon Deviation traffic from the Gateway Motorway, and construction of a full length shared use path with connectivity to local active transport networks.
The Gateway Upgrade North project aims to increase efficiency, assist in reducing congestion and improve safety for all road users.
